This morning, The Hill reported that Sen. Joe Lieberman, I/D-Conn., had backed off of his threat to block the Democratic health care bill in a deal with Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. However, Lieberman spokesman Marshall Wittmann denies the story, invoking the World Series in the process.
"If you believe this story is true, you will also believe that I am replacing A-Rod in Game Six of the Series," Wittmann told The Page.
Lieberman has vowed to side with Republicans to filibuster any health care bill that includes a public option.
